HHO: How did your artist name come about?

Evan Michael Green: When I first started releasing music, my original artist name was just Evan Green. After looking up my name in google, I realized that there alot of Evan Greens and when I looked up Evan Michael Green, I was the only one doing music so I chose that name instead.

HHO: Where are you from?

Evan Michael Green: I’m originally from the DC, MD, VA (aka the DMV) area

HHO: Who were your musical influences growing up?

Evan Michael Green: I’m a huge fan of old school music. I grew up on Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, Prince, and many more artists from that era.

HHO: What hip-hop albums did you grow up listening to?

Evan Michael Green: I started listening to Outkast, The Roots, and A tribe called Quest when I was really young. It helped me develop the way I craft lyrics.

HHO: What is the current single that you are promoting?

Evan Michael Green: My new record “Bad Girls” is based on my real life experience with girls that my grandfather warned me about when I was much younger. The production of this record took parts of 10 years to complete through various demos. I’m really excited about this record because it was written, produced, and performed by me.

HHO: What would be your dream collaboration with any rapper or producer?

Evan Michael Green: I’ve been a huge fan of Pharell’s career. He has expanded into so many different lanes as an artist, producer, film scorer, and entrepreneur. I want to mold my career into something that great in the future. I feel like a collab with him would be fucking crazy.

HHO: How has the response from your fans been on this record?

Evan Michael Green: Alot of my fans were shocked at the song and video because it is one of the first tracks where I’m not full on singing. This was more of a vibe track as opposed to me singing all of the parts. I’ve had alot of positive response in this new direction and I couldn’t be more excited for future tracks.

HHO: What artists do you listen to the most?

Evan Michael Green: It really depends on the day. Some days its Michael Jackson. Some days its Jay-Z. Some days its Drake. Since I play 6 different instruments, everyday is a little different. I’ve really been feeling Meek’s new record though. It truly is an authentic record and I really appreciate that.

HHO: What are you plans for 2019?

Evan Michael Green: Make as much music as possible and release my first album. My team and I have been grinding behind the scenes for almost two years and I’m excited to show what we’ve been working on.

HHO: What are you doing that others are not?

Evan Michael Green: Nothing against artists who release a lot of tracks every year, but the difference between myself and others is that I’m taking my time to perfect my songs and my craft. I feel like in this day and age everyone is trying to get as many tracks as possible which makes the quality of the songs suffer. I want to body every track that I put out.

HHO: How can your fans reach you?

Evan Michael Green: I respond as much as I can on my instagram @evanmichaelgreen. That is the main way to stay up with me.
